If you are not an experienced paddler, or have someone with you who is and is prepared to introduce you to the world of kayaking we recommend you get training. It will make your experience better, safer and more enjoyable.

In order to help you begin your journey to acquiring the skills and judgement you will need, here are a few URLs which will help define the things you need to learn and help you select a training facility:

Regulations regarding Lifejackets and Personal Floatation Devices (PFD).

Transport Canada's Safe Boating Guide provides information on how to choose and use a Lifejacket or Personal Floatation Device (PFD).
serene kayak rentals provides a regulation universal size PFD with every rental craft. Please provide us with your size.

ou the renter are responsible to ensure anyone you share your craft with ALSO meeting the same qualifications and safety equipment requirements that you warranted to meet. This includes following the Transport Canada guide for choosing, fitting and wearing lifejackets or PFDs, including their use for children. 

All paddlers must be 7 years of age or older. 
Also, note that at this time, we do not yet provide guided tours. What we do provide: is Kayaks with all related equipment delivered and picked up at the launch site.
